## Brightwood Baldivis: land estate website rebuild for Parcel Property

Parcel Property is a WA-based land developer building residential estates across the Perth metro area. Brightwood Baldivis is one of their active releases, a greenfield estate in Perth's southern corridor selling house and land packages and individual lots to families looking to build.

Their previous [Web Design](https://remedystudio.com.au/services/web-design-perth)website had a problem that was costing them on both sides of the screen: buyers couldn't use the lot map on mobile, and the internal team was spending significant time on manual content updates just to keep availability accurate. Remedy rebuilt the site on [Craft CMS](https://remedystudio.com.au/services/craft-cms-development) in early 2024. In the three months that followed, sessions increased 23%, new users increased 18%, and views increased 35%.

### What was wrong with the old website?

The old site ran on WordPress, with a collection of plugins managing the lot browsing and availability interface. On paper, that setup covered the brief. In practice, it was creating friction on both sides.

For buyers, particularly on mobile, the lot browsing experience had fallen behind. The interactive map, the core of how anyone shops for land was awkward to use and difficult to navigate on a phone. Most early property research happens on mobile. A map that doesn't work on a small screen isn't a minor inconvenience; it's a barrier at the exact moment a buyer is deciding whether to enquire.

For the Parcel Property team, keeping the site accurate was a separate headache. Availability on an active release changes constantly. Lots get reserved, settled, released back to market. Every change had to be managed across multiple plugins with no single source of truth, and no way to sync automatically with what was happening in their CRM. The risk of showing buyers inaccurate availability was real and ongoing.

When they came to Remedy in September 2023, they were looking for the underlying problems to be fixed.

### How did Remedy approach the website rebuild?

The first structural decision was to consolidate all lot data into a single point of truth. Spreading data across multiple plugins creates maintenance debt that compounds with every update. Centralising it made content management significantly simpler and created the foundation for CRM synchronisation, so lot availability could update automatically rather than through manual edits.

The lot map was rebuilt from scratch. Instead of a generic mapping plugin, Remedy built a geographic interface that plots lots at their actual coordinates within the estate. Buyers can pan and zoom freely, tap a lot for details, and use the fly-to function to orient themselves within the development. It works on desktop. It works properly on mobile. Getting the geographic data accurate required a custom precision tool to define and export geocoordinate data for each lot boundary, there was no off-the-shelf solution that matched the required accuracy.

The CRM integration required a custom [Craft CMS](https://remedystudio.com.au/services/craft-cms-development) module to pull live availability data without manual intervention. And an 8-point grid design system was applied across the site to bring visual consistency to a product that needed to feel as considered as the estate itself, particularly on smaller screens where the previous layout had been inconsistent.

The site launched 14 March 2024.

### What changed after the new website launched?

In the three months following launch, the Brightwood Baldivis site recorded:

- **+23%** sessions
- **+18%** new users
- **+35%** views
- **-6.42%** bounce rate
- **+4%** average session duration

More buyers were finding the site, staying longer, and engaging more deeply with available lots.

The operational change was just as significant. Automating lot availability and consolidating the content structure returned meaningful time to the Parcel Property team. On an active release, availability changes are constant. A site that handles those updates automatically is not a convenience, it is the difference between a site that requires daily editorial attention and one that stays accurate on its own.

Brightwood Baldivis is [hosted](https://remedystudio.com.au/services/hosting) and [maintained](https://remedystudio.com.au/services/website-maintenance) by Remedy on an ongoing basis.

### What does a property developer website need to do well?

A land estate website has two jobs that most web platforms aren't built to handle simultaneously: give buyers a genuinely useful browsing experience on mobile, and give the internal team a content structure they can keep current without friction.

When those two things are solved together, as they were here, the website stops being a maintenance task and starts doing the work it was built to do.
